Misprinted and misaligned scrap sheets of plastic labels for soda bottles, candy wrappers and the like are rescued from waste and repurposed as the raw material for these rich-hued woven containers. The task of creating this plastic “twine” is given to women in India who work from home to earn a living while caring for their children and families. The result of this environmentally and economically friendly process is a functional, one-of-a-kind work of art.
